Vorwort der Studioschreiberin 2023/24, Maia Joseph

Ich fühle mich sehr geehrt, die neue Studioschreiberin im ada studio zu sein! Die innere und äußere Reflexion ist ein gesunder Weg, um ein besseres Verständnis für uns selbst und andere zu entwickeln. Da ich selbst in diesem intimen Rahmen, den das ada Studio bietet, performt habe, weiß ich, wie verletzlich es sich anfühlen kann, die eigene Arbeit zu präsentieren. Daher hoffe ich, dass meine spezielle Perspektive dazu beitragen kann, die Interpretation der Aufführungen sowohl durch mich als auch durch das Publikum zu formen und zu hinterfragen.

Maia Joseph (she/her) hat 2022 ihre Ausbildung an der Tanzakademie balance 1 abgeschlossen. Geboren 1997 und aufgewachsen in Toronto/Kanada, zog sie 2019 nach Berlin, um ihre Tanzausbildung zu vertiefen. Seit 2020 arbeitet sie neben ihrem Studium freiberuflich für Künstler*innen wie Cristina Perera, Kiani Del Valle, Marie Zechiel und Salvatore Siciliano. 2023 wurde sie zum A.PART Festival im ada Studio eingeladen. Derzeit ist sie Kompaniemitglied bei der Luna Park Initiative e.V. unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Kosmas Kosmopoulos. 

I am so honoured to be ada studio's new studio writer! Inner and outer reflection is such a healthy way to foster a better understanding of ourselves, and others. Having performed in the intimate space myself, I know how vulnerable it can feel to present your own work. With that being said, I hope that my unique perspective can help shape and challenge how both I, and the audiences interpret the performances. 

Maia Joseph (she/her) is a 2022 graduate of Tanzakademie Balance 1. Born in 1997 and raised in Toronto/Canada, she moved to Berlin in 2019 to further her dance training. Since 2020 she has freelanced alongside her studies for artists such as Cristina Perera, Kiani Del Valle, Marie Zechiel and Salvatore Siciliano. In May 2023 she was invited to the A.PART Festival at ada studio. Currently, she is working as a company member of the Luna Park Initiative e.V. under the artistic direction of Kosmas Kosmopoulos.
