Callum Mooney ist der Tanja-Liedtke-Stipendiat des Jahres 2024 und recherchiert im ada Studio für seine aktuelle Arbeit "Cosmos", ein Tanztheaterstück, das die Ebenen des menschlichen Bewusstseins - Gedanken, Träume und das Leben nach dem Tod - erforscht. Projektionen lassen das Publikum in das Innenleben des menschlichen Gehirns eintauchen und zeigen das Paradox von Verfall und Wachstum. Die von verschiedenen Erfahrungen inspirierte Choreografie wechselt ständig die Stile und Ideen und spiegelt die Entwicklung vom oberflächlichen zum übernatürlichen kollektiven Bewusstsein wider. Mit Inspirationen aus außerkörperlichen Erfahrungen, Euphorie, Beerdigungsritualen, Träumen und vielem mehr ist "Cosmos" eine multidimensionale Erkundung.

Callum Mooney ist ein australischer Künstler, der in den Bereichen Tanz, Theater und Film tätig ist. Ursprünglich kommt er aus dem Hip-Hop-Bereich, bevor er sich auf den zeitgenössischen Tanz konzentrierte. Er hat mit der Dream Dance Company in den Produktionen "The Secret Society" und "Enter the Vortex" gearbeitet. Callum war bereits als Tanzkünstler für Suzuki, Cartier, ALDI und Kingswood tätig. Callum hat außerdem ein Diplom für Film und interaktive Medien erworben, das sich auf Videobearbeitung und künstlerische Regie durch Kinematografie konzentriert. Dieses Wissen lässt er in seine Arbeit mit Videokunst und Projektionen für Live-Tanz einfließen. 2017 präsentierte Callum seine erste Choreografie "WeAreSOUND 'Train of thought'". 2018 arbeitete Callum mit Chunky Move an dem von Anouk van Dijk choreografierten Stück "Accumulation" und mit Legs on the Wall an "The Raft", das von Joshua Thomson und Gavin Webber choreografiert wurde. Außerdem debütierte er mit seiner Soloarbeit "The Artists Mind" beim KABA Festival in Sumatra, Indonesien. 2018 war Callum einer der Hauptdarsteller in Maxine Doyles (Co-Direktorin von Punchdrunk) "SUNSET", einer immersiven Tanzerfahrung im Sunset Old Men's Hospital, für das Perth Festival. Außerdem präsentierte er seine Arbeit "The Artist's Mind" beim Flying Nun Festival & March Dance in Sydney. 2019 erhielt Callum ein Stipendium für die Arbeit mit vier Kollaborateuren im Rahmen von DirtyFeet "Out of the Studio" und arbeitete mit der Künstlerin Jessica Goodfellow aus Sydney an dem Comedy-Tanzduo "Jeppee Peppee".

reinkommen ist die jüngste Reihe des ada Studios. Sie gibt jungen Choreograf*innen die Möglichkeit, ihren Arbeitsprozess zu öffnen, das Publikum zum Reinkommen einzuladen und ins Gespräch zu kommen.

Callum Mooney is the 2024 Tanja Liedtke Fellow and is researching at ada Studio for his current work 'Cosmos'. 'Cosmos' is a dance theatre work exploring the levels of human consciousness - thoughts, dreams, and the afterlife. The work will feature projection art and will immerse the audience in the inner workings of the human brain, showcasing the paradox of decay and growth. The choreography, inspired by various experiences, constantly shifts styles and ideas, reflecting the evolution from superficial to supernatural collective consciousness. With inspiration drawn from out-of-body experiences, euphoria, funeral rituals, dreams, and more, 'Cosmos' promises a multidimensional exploration.

Callum Mooney is an Australian artist that has been working in dance theatre and film. Originally from a hip hop background before predominately focusing on contemporary. He has worked with the Dream Dance Company in the productions of 'The Secret Society' and 'Enter the Vortex.' Callum has been a featured dance artist for Suzuki, Cartier, ALDI and Kingswood. Callum has also completed a Diploma of Film and Interactive Media focusing on video editing and artistic direction through cinematography. He incorporates this knowledge through his work with video art and projection work for live dance. In 2017, Callum debuted his first choreographic work, WeAreSOUND ‘Train of thought.’ In 2018, Callum worked with Chunky Move in a work called ‘Accumulation’ choreographed by Anouk van Dijk, Legs on the Wall for ‘The Raft’ choreographed by Joshua Thomson and Gavin Webber. As well as debuting his solo work ‘The Artists Mind’ at KABA Festival in Sumatra, Indonesia. In 2018, Callum was a lead performer in Maxine Doyle's (Co-director of Punchdrunk) 'SUNSET' an immersive dance experience in Sunset Old Men's Hospital, for Perth Festival. Also performed his work 'The Artist's Mind' at the Flying Nun Festival & March Dance in Sydney. In 2019, Callum awarded grants to work with four collaborators as part of DirtyFeet ‘Out of the Studio’ on a work called ‘Cosmos,’ and also collaborated with Sydney Artist Jessica Goodfellow on a comedy dance duo ‘Jeppee Peppee.’

The 3 weeks residency is funded by the Tanja Liedtke Foundation.

reinkommen (“coming in”) is ada Studio's latest performance series. It gives young choreographers the opportunity to open their work process, invite the audience to come in and to get into conversation.
