„Über Räume an deren Enden es kein Zurück mehr gibt.

Über Vergessenes, von dem ich nur weiß, wie ich es hätte besser machen können.“

 

Inspiration für meine Recherche während der Residenz im ada studio sind Begegnungen mit Menschen mit Demenz in einer ambulanten Wohneinrichtung. Vor allem der Kontakt und die Gespräche mit dem Architekten Herrn W. in einer Einzelunterstützung. In der gemeinsamen Zeit haben sich Gedanken verwoben und sind an vielen Stellen unterbrochen.

Gemeinsam mit der Soundkünstlerin Joëlle Serret begegnen wir mit Bewegung, Text und Sound dem Erinnern und Vergessen und den gesellschaftlich dafür vorhergesehenen Orten und Formen des Umgangs.

Wir werden diversen Fragen nachgehen:

Welche Ästhetiken sind in Pflegeeinrichtungen zu finden? Welche Logiken, Brüche und Sprünge werden durch Demenz in den Gedanken und in der Körperwahrnehmung der Betroffenen herbeigeführt? Wie gelingt gemeinsame Kommunikation? Welche Gesten der Care-Arbeit verbinden die beteiligten Körper? Wie verhält es sich um Verletzlichkeit und dem Erleben von Pflege als Ein- und Übergriff in die Intimsphäre? Was ist da? Was geht verloren? Was kommt hervor und verbindet sich?

 

Farina Myr: Ich bin Performerin und Sozialarbeiterin mit Schwerpunkt Musik und Bewegung und beteilige mich an emanzipatorischen Protesten und Organisierungen.

Diese Bereiche formen meinen Körper, meine Entscheidungen und meine Arbeiten als Künstlerin wie auch die Orte, an denen ich arbeite und performe.

Mich faszinieren die ästhetischen Strategien verschiedener gesellschaftlicher Bereiche und die Schnittstellen zwischen Theorie, Praxis, Politik und Kunst.

Es beschäftigt mich, wie Intentionen und Kontexte unsere Perspektiven und Lesarten formen. In meinen Arbeiten exploriere ich verschiedene Ästhetiken, schichte, (de)kontextualisiere und teile sie im Rahmen von Performances.

In der Arbeit mit Bewegung, Sound, Raum und Licht möchte ich Verarbeitung auf verschiedenen Ebenen ermöglichen und verknüpfen; inhaltliche, affektive, bewegte und damit auch sinnlich wahrnehmbare.

Vor den weitreichenden Ausgangsbeschränkungen habe ich mit Nora Amin und Joëlle Serret „InFiltration“ performt und „umbra…where our revolt begins“ gemeinsam mit dem Musiker Joost Van Duppen in Brüssel und Berlin gezeigt. Ich freue mich sehr auf die Möglichkeit der Residenz im ada studio, die im Rahmen des Pilotprojekts Residenzförderung Tanz der Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa gefördert wird.

 

reinkommen ist die jüngste Reihe des ada Studios. Sie gibt jungen Choreograf*innen die Möglichkeit, ihren Arbeitsprozess zu öffnen, das Publikum zum Reinkommen einzuladen und ins Gespräch zu kommen.

 

 

“About rooms, where is no turning back at their ends.

About forgotten things that I only know how I could have done better.”

The inspiration for my research during the residency in the ada studio are encounters with people with dementia in an ambulant residential facility. Especially the contact and conversations with the architect Mr W. in one-on-one support. During the time together, thoughts have interwoven and were interrupted in many places.

Together with the sound artist Joëlle Serret, we use movement, text and sound to encounter remembering and forgetting and the socially foreseen places and forms of interaction for them.

We will encounter various questions:

What aesthetics can be found in care facilities? Which logics, breaks and jumps are brought about by dementia in the thoughts and body perception of those who are affected? How can mutual communication be achieved through facial expressions? Which gestures of care work connect the bodies that are involved? How to deal with vulnerability and the experience of care as an encroachment on and violation of the intimate sphere?

What is there? What is lost What comes out and connects?

 

Farina Myr: I am a performer and social worker with a focus on music and movement and I take part in emancipatory protests and organizations.

These areas shape my body, my decisions and my work as an artist as well as the places where I work and perform.

I am fascinated by the aesthetic strategies of various spheres of society and the interfaces between theory, practice and politics and art.

I am concerned with how intentions and contexts shape our perspectives and readings. In my work, I explore different aesthetics, layer them, (de)contextualize them and share them in the context of performances.

In working with movement, sound, space and light, I want to enable and link processing on different levels; content-related, affective, moving and thereby sensually perceptible. 

Before the far-reaching exit restrictions due to Covid 19, I performed “InFiltration” with Nora Amin and Joëlle Serret and showed “umbra ... where our revolt begins” together with the musician Joost Van Duppen in Brussels and Berlin. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity being a resident at ada studio, funded as part of the pilot project Residency Funding Dance of the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe.

 

reinkommen (“coming in”) is ada Studio's latest performance series. It gives young choreographers the opportunity to open their work process, invite the audience to come in and to get into conversation.
